Driving from the airport
The airport road joins the Volos–Almyros national road within minutes. North-east to Volos in 30 minutes, then through the city for Pelion: Portaria and Makrinitsa above the town, the coast road round the gulf to Afissos and Milina, or over the ridge to the Aegean beaches at Mylopotamos and Agios Ioannis, an hour and a half of bends. West for the motorway to Larissa, Athens and Thessaloniki.
