The civil terminal is small. Sky Express and Olympic fly from Athens and Thessaloniki a few times a week all year, and there are no international flights; the airfield’s military role means no photography on the apron.
Skyros is the southernmost of the Sporades and the least visited, known for its carnival, its small wild ponies and the pine forests of the north. Most visitors arrive by the ferry from Kymi on Evia; the flight is the shortcut, and with a few dozen seats it fills fast.
