Leros Airport (LRS) is a short strip at Partheni on the northern tip of the island, 8 km from Platanos and Agia Marina, the twin capital, and a little more from the Italian-built port of Lakki. Only small turboprops land here. Olympic Air and Sky Express fly from Athens daily all year, and in summer the Dodecanese island-hopper calls on the way to Kalymnos, Astypalaia, Kos and Rhodes. There are no international flights.
Leros is a quiet island of deep bays, Italian art-deco architecture in Lakki and a mostly Greek clientele. The airport is at one end and the villages strung down the east coast, Alinda, Agia Marina, Platanos and Pandeli, are a short taxi ride.
About 8 km south: 15 minutes and roughly €15 by taxi. Alinda is closer, about €12.
The island bus passes the airport road at Partheni a few times a day on its way down the island, but it is not timed to flights. A taxi is the practical choice.
By reservation: Leros agencies deliver cars and scooters to the terminal for the flights. A scooter is enough for the single island road.
By ferry or fast boat from Lakki or Agia Marina: Patmos in about an hour, Kos in one to two hours, daily in summer. The summer island-hopper flight also links Kos.
