Kozani is 4 km north, about 10 minutes and €10 by taxi. Ptolemaida and Siatista are half an hour and about €35. There is no airport bus; the city bus passes on the Larissa road nearby.
Read moreKozani Airport “Filippos” (KZI) is a small domestic airport 4 km south of Kozani, the capital of western Macedonia, on the plateau of the region’s lignite mines and power stations. Sky Express or Olympic fly to Athens a few times a week all year, mostly for local business and the university, and there are no international flights.
The terminal is one hall. Kozani sits on the Egnatia motorway an hour and a half from Thessaloniki Airport, which carries most of the region’s traffic; the local flight is a convenience for those who can match its thin timetable, and winter fog and snow cut into it.
