Kefalonia Airport “Anna Pollatou” (EFL) sits on the flat coastal strip at Svoronata, 8 km south of Argostoli, with the runway running down to the beach at Ammes. Named after the island’s Olympic gymnast, it handles around 900,000 passengers a year, nearly all of them between May and October: British, Italian, German, Dutch and Polish holidaymakers on charter and low-cost flights, plus the Athens service that keeps it open all winter.
Fraport Greece rebuilt the terminal in 2020: one building, arrivals and departures on the same level, taxi rank and car park outside the doors. Kefalonia is the largest Ionian island and its resorts are scattered over an hour of mountain roads, which shapes every transport choice below.
Argostoli is 15 minutes and about €20 by taxi, Lassi even closer. There is no regular airport bus, so for Skala, Sami, Agia Efimia and Fiskardo (an hour or more away) it is taxi, pre-booked transfer or hire car.

Only a handful of KTEL Kefalonias shuttles to Argostoli on summer days (about €3), timed to some flights, and none in winter. Plan on a taxi, transfer or hire car.
About €50 to Skala (50 minutes) and €80 to Fiskardo (80–90 minutes) by day. Both are worth pre-booking as a transfer; the rank empties on Saturdays.
A taxi costs about €45 and takes 45 minutes over the mountain; a pre-booked transfer is similar. There is no bus connection from the airport.
Taxi to the Argostoli quay (about €20) and the car ferry across the gulf, every half hour, 25 minutes. The road around the bay takes 50 minutes and costs about €55.
In the open-air car park beside the terminal, from about €3 an hour or €10 a day, first 10 minutes free. It rarely fills outside mid-August.
