Kastoria is 10 km north, about 15 minutes and €20 by taxi; Argos Orestiko is minutes away at about €8. There is no airport bus; the KTEL between Kastoria and Argos Orestiko passes on the main road.
Read moreKastoria Airport “Aristotelis” (KSO) is on the plain at Argos Orestiko, 10 km south of Kastoria, the fur-trading town on its lake in the mountains of western Macedonia. It is a small domestic airport: Sky Express or Olympic fly to Athens a few times a week all year, mostly for local business and the fur trade, and there are no international flights. Winter fog and snow disrupt the schedule more than anywhere else in Greece.
The terminal is one hall. Kastoria is also reached from Thessaloniki Airport in two hours on the Egnatia motorway, which is how most visitors arrive; the flight is for those who want to skip the drive and can live with the thin timetable.
