Ikaria Airport “Ikaros” (JIK) sits on the rocky eastern tip of the island at Fanari, 12 km from Agios Kirykos, the capital, on a runway squeezed between the mountain and the sea. Only turboprops use it: Olympic Air and Sky Express fly from Athens daily all year, with summer hops to Samos, Lemnos, Thessaloniki and Heraklion. There are no international flights.

Ikaria is long, mountainous and famous for its longevity and its all-night panigyria. The airport is at one end and the popular north coast, Evdilos, Armenistis and Nas, is a winding hour and a half at the other; plan the transfer with the flight.

Agios Kirykos is 12 km away, about 20 minutes and €25 by taxi. Evdilos and the north coast are over an hour on mountain roads, about €55–70. There is no airport bus; book a taxi or hire car for your flight.
