Getting to and from Naxos Airport
Everything is close. The airport sits between Chora and the west-coast beaches, so the town, the port and Agios Prokopios are all ten minutes by taxi, and the summer KTEL to Agia Anna and Plaka passes the airport turning. The mountain villages of the Tragaea, Filoti and Apiranthos, are half an hour inland, and Apollonas at the far north is an hour.

Taxis meet the Athens flights at the rank outside, and the fares are fixed per destination and posted; the night tariff applies after midnight. Naxos has a limited taxi fleet for a large island, so in August book ahead for the return to the airport rather than hailing one in Chora.

KTEL bus and walking
From May to October the KTEL between Chora and the beaches (Agios Prokopios, Agia Anna, Plaka) stops on the main road a few minutes’ walk from the terminal, roughly hourly, €2 to town. In winter the service is sparse and taxis are the practical choice. The beach at Agios Georgios and the first hotels are a 20-minute walk from the terminal along a flat road.
