Getting to and from Ikaria Airport
The airport is at the wrong end of the island for most visitors. Agios Kirykos and the hot springs at Therma are close; Evdilos, Armenistis, Nas and the villages of Raches are an hour to an hour and a half over the mountain. Taxis meet the flights, hire cars are delivered on request, and the island buses run only between the towns, on schedules that ignore the flights.

Taxis from Agios Kirykos meet the flights and fares are fixed per destination; the long runs to the north coast should be agreed before setting off, and booked ahead in August when a full ATR outnumbers the cabs. The night tariff applies after midnight.

Bus and ferries
No bus serves the airport. The island bus runs between Agios Kirykos, Evdilos and Armenistis once or twice a day in summer and less in winter. Ikaria has two ports: Agios Kirykos, 20 minutes from the airport, and Evdilos on the north coast, both with ferries to Piraeus, Samos, Fourni and Mykonos a few times a week.
