Getting to and from Mytilene Airport
The airport is on the Mytilene side of the island and the town is a quarter of an hour away. Everywhere tourists actually stay is not: Plomari on the south coast is an hour, Molyvos and Petra on the north coast an hour and a half, Skala Eressos in the far west two hours. Lesvos roads are good but long, and the two gulfs that nearly cut the island in half make every journey longer than the map suggests.

City bus and KTEL coaches
the Mytilene city bus runs roughly hourly between the stop outside the terminal and the town centre by the harbour, 25 minutes for €2; it is a proper year-round service, not a summer shuttle, because the airport is on the town’s bus network. The KTEL coaches to Kalloni, Molyvos, Plomari and Eressos leave from the KTEL station in town, a few times a day, and the last ones go mid-afternoon.
