Getting to and from Syros Airport
Nothing on Syros is far. The airport is on the road between Ermoupoli and the southern villages, ten minutes from the harbour, Vaporia and the Ano Syros steps, and a quarter of an hour from the beaches at Galissas, Kini, Poseidonia and Vari. A few taxis meet the flight, the island bus runs along the main road, and hire cars are delivered on request.

Taxis meet the Athens flight at the rank outside, and with a few dozen passengers on each aircraft there are usually enough. Fares to town are short and metered; the village fares are agreed from the posted board. The night tariff applies after midnight.

Bus and ferries
The Syros KTEL circles the south of the island from Ermoupoli through Vari, Poseidonia and Galissas several times a day, and passes the airport junction on the main road; ask the driver for the airport stop. From Ermoupoli port, ferries and fast boats reach Piraeus in two to four hours and Tinos and Mykonos in under an hour, many times a day in summer.
